We’re thrilled to announce that we’re starting the new year with exciting news. Our team has launched three new sailboat models and created two distinct lines for Seascape and its community of sailors.
Inspired by BENETEAU’s Second Generation of Firsts in the 1980s, we’ve brought a range of sailing experiences for all kinds of sailors. From cruiser racers for family holidays to one-design racers for competitive racing, and even an innovative dinghy called BENETEAU Wizz.
After 40 years, BENETEAU and Seascape have teamed up to reinvent First for the new sailing era. Focusing on the sailor and the sailing experience, we’ve introduced two lines: First and First SE – Seascape Edition, catering to different types of sailors.
Today, we proudly present three new members of the 7th generation of FIRST. The First 24 and 27 are thrilling sports cruisers, while the First 14 is an innovative dinghy that brings fun and excitement to sailing for everyone.
In addition, a new product line of First SE – Seascape Edition, consisting of four models: 14SE, 18SE, 24SE, and 27SE, was created. First SE is building on the legacy of Seascape boats and has the mission to bring modern one-design racing and adventure sailing in every sailor’s hands.
FIRST
AN ICONIC BRAND WITH 40 YEARS OF HERITAGE
The signature features of the First range have not changed since its conception in 1977. First models have always been designed for sailors who enjoy club racing as much as cruising, bringing in one single product line the best of both worlds. In 2021 BENETEAU is launching the new First 14, 24, and 27.
The new First models retain the thrilling hull design by Samuel Manuard, like their SE counterparts. However, they feature simpler systems, aluminum masts, and more comfortable interiors and cockpits suitable for day sailing and coastal cruising. BENETEAU has always been adaptable to meet the diverse needs and expectations of its users.
FIRST 14
A DOUBLE-HANDED DINGHY FOR EVERYONE
The First 14 continues the legacy of the BENETEAU Wizz, introducing novice sailors to fast and planing dinghies without compromising safety and boat control. It’s a light, fast, and thrilling dinghy designed with the sailor’s needs in mind.
It offers easy handling with features like furling, a self-tacking jib, and a dual-slot daggerboard for transitioning between single-handed and double-handed mode. The wide and stable hull, spacious cockpit, and tangle-free ropes ensure safety and comfort.
With low-maintenance deck equipment, an aluminum rig, and Dacron sails, ownership becomes hassle-free. The removable wheels and lightweight hull provide extra freedom, especially when exploring new shores.
FIRST 24
THE PERFECT FAMILY DAYSAILER
The First 24 is a versatile sailboat that combines the qualities of a smart pocket cruiser, a fun day-sailor, and an exciting club racer. It upholds the promise of modern performance sailing.
With sleeping space for up to 4 people, it offers a comfortable experience while still delivering thrilling, planing sailing. The retractable keel allows access to previously missed cruising spots and easy launching on slipways, creating new opportunities.
Its light and stable hull, aluminum rig, classic backstay, and Dacron sails make it an ideal choice for weekend getaways and holiday cruising. The open-space interior provides ample sleeping surfaces and innovative solutions for toilette, storage, and living space transformation.
The winch-operated deep composite/lead retractable keel and removable rudder blades enable sailing in shallow waters as shallow as 30cm, while maintaining speed and stability. In summary, the First 24 combines versatility, comfort, and performance for an enjoyable sailing experience.
FIRST 27
AN EIGHT-METER CRUISER FOR THE NEW ERA
The First 27 is a fast and safe cruiser, perfect for families and couples seeking an enjoyable sailing experience. It combines modern design and building techniques to deliver thrilling planing sailing. Additionally, it excels in club races, earning well-deserved trophies.
As a pocket yacht, the First 27 offers convenience with an inboard Yanmar engine, a marine toilet, a galley, a fridge, and up to 6 sleeping berths. Natural light floods the saloon through the coachroof, hull windows, and deck hatches. Outdoor living is comfortable on the cockpit benches with a removable table.
Sailing the First 27 is made easy with its aluminum rig, classic backstay, and Dacron sails. Safety is prioritized with features like a deep fixed lead keel, twin rudders, and insubmersibility volumes.

The boats you know, own, and love remain true to their origin, the idea of One Design racing and Adventure sailing. Building on Seascape heritage to encourage and empower you the sailors to expand your comfort zone. The SE in First SE stands for SeascapeEdition of which the central part remains the Seascape Community that now has s stable and active future ahead. The SE badge brings high-tech, performance, event and community know-how from the cutting edge of racing into your hands.
FIRST 14 SE
PURE SAILING EXCITEMENT
The First 14 SE, known as the Seascape Edition, is designed for experienced dinghy sailors seeking enhanced performance and high-tech features. It combines the thrill, speed, and enjoyment of high-performance racing skiffs with modern accessibility, safety, and easy handling.
Thanks to its high-quality construction and advanced materials, the boat can handle stronger winds, while its additional sail area provides more power in light wind conditions. The carbon fiber mast, boom, and bowsprit contribute to its lightweight and durability, and the upwind sails are made from laminate cloth.
With convenient removable wheels and easy car-roof transport, the First 14 SE perfectly suits an active lifestyle.
FIRST 18 SE
THE ENABLER OF GROWTH
The First 18 SE, previously known as Seascape 18, is a sailboat suitable for beginners and experienced sailors alike. It caters to those interested in one-design club racing or adventurous sailing.
With over 500 owners worldwide, the First 18 SE proves to be an excellent choice for recreational sailors looking to challenge themselves in a well-established one-design class. Its wide, flat hull and twin rudders ensure complete control even at high speeds.
The boat’s handling and deck organization are simplified with a snuffer system, furling jib, and carbon mast without backstays. It features a small yet comfortable cabin for two adults. The large open cockpit and small cabin with a spacious double berth make it an ideal platform for sea camping.
The fully retractable swinging keel and removable rudder blades provide access to shallow bays. Easy to trailer and dismantle, the First 18 SE can fulfill racing ambitions in international one-design classes and offer adventurous sea-camping experiences.

This modern and high-tech sport cruiser delivers thrilling performance and an exciting sailing experience. The carbon rig reduces weight aloft and eliminates the need for a backstay, making maneuvers easier and allowing for a larger square-top mainsail.
With a high sail area/displacement ratio, the First 24 SE offers fun sailing even in light winds. Its trailerability and slip-launch capability, along with a smart mast-raising system for single-handed operation, make it easy to explore different sailing regions.
FIRST 27 SE
NO LIMITS
The First 27 SE brings the advanced performance and racing expertise of offshore racing to recreational sailors. It offers an extraordinary sailing experience that was previously only available to professional racers.
Designed by Samuel Manuard, this all-weather, vacuum-infused one-design offshore racer and adventure cruiser is constructed using sandwich construction. This unique construction method allows it to be towed on the road without special permissions, attracting over 160 owners who participate in long-distance races across Europe and the USA.
Notable achievements include victories in the doublehanded Chicago-Mackinac and Silverrudder races. Sailors can test their skills in one-design long-distance races or enjoy fast-paced adventure cruises in the most desirable sailing locations.
With features such as a marine toilet, up to 6 berths with a separated front cabin, optional galley, and a fridge, the First 27 SE is the ultimate adventure cruiser for sailing enthusiasts. Its practicality and design make it a top choice for those seeking unforgettable sailing experiences.
